Our primary bird ringing / bird banding site (BDI Fynbos) is located one hour’s drive away from Cape Town, and in the heart of the Cape Winelands Region. Cape Town itself is a world-class destination known for its cosmopolitan nature, its storied history, cultural mix of African, Asian, and European influence, its breathtaking scenery, its incredible biodiversity, and its excellent wine and cuisine. Our site provides the perfect opportunity for ringing / banding African birds in a variety of habitats, with the added benefits of being easily accessible from an international airport (Cape Town International, airport code CPT), and being less than two hours’ drive from all the major attractions of Cape Town.
